Holocaust Memorial Day conference in Belfast

Holocaust Memorial Day Half Day Conference - ‘The Jewish Community in the north of Ireland’
31st January 2013

PRONI
On the 27th January 1945 the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp was liberated. Today, we use this date to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

On Thursday 31st January PRONI will host a half day conference as part of these commemorations. The Conference will examine the history of the Jewish Community in the north of Ireland, with particular reference to Jewish refugees who came to Ireland in the 1930s to escape Nazi persecution.

2.10 pm
The gathering and the scattering: the Jewish Community in the North of Ireland.
